On September 2, 2014, Facebook announced a huge milestone for its Android app: The first non-Google app to cross 1 billion installs. Apparently Facebook wasn’t happy with just one of those titles, though. On Tuesday, June 9, the company’s Messenger app also reached that 1 billion installs milestone. Of course, it’s worth noting that Facebook broke Messenger apart from the standard Facebook app, making it essential for anyone that wants to send a Facebook message to download the standalone app, so it was probably reasonable to think this would happen sooner, rather than later. Still, an accomplishment is an accomplishment, and it’s certainly a testament to the popularity of Facebook as a whole. Do you use Facebook Messenger? Download:
